Tell it about you
Age, height, weight, how active you are, and whether you want to lose, keep or gain. Wholesum works out a daily calorie target with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and splits it into protein, carbs and fat.
Log what you eat
Each meal gets its own card. Search, scan a barcode, or tap a recent food, and the day adds itself up.
Check in once a week
Step on the scale and Wholesum compares what happened with what was expected, then nudges your target up or down a little.
Also in the app.
- Barcode scanner
- Point the camera at a packaged food and its label fills itself in.
- Portions you would say out loud
- “1 slice”, “2 tbsp”, “1 medium apple”. Change the amount and everything recalculates.
- Recipes
- Enter a recipe once, with a photo. Wholesum works out each serving, so you log one bowl instead of fourteen ingredients.
- Trends
- Weight and calorie charts over a week, a month, a quarter or a year, plus a weekly review of what changed.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Calorie allowances follow published guidelines and move with your trimester on their own.
- Extra nutrients, if you want them
- Turn on fiber, sugar, saturated fat or sodium. Leave them off if they don’t matter to you.
What Wholesum leaves out.
Your food log and weight history belong to you. Delete your account and they go with it.
- No ads.
- No in-app purchases.
- No selling your data.
- No streaks to break, and nothing turns red.
